Bridget Bowe
Bridget is a registered psychologist with experience across private practice, public health, acute hospital settings, and rural and remote communities throughout Queensland.
Bridget believes in talking time to build a trusting, collaborative relationship and is of the perspective that therapeutic change comes from developing insight into how past and present experiences contribute to problematic behaviours or relationship patterns. Known for her calm, thoughtful, and compassionate approach, Bridget creates a space where clients can pause, make sense of their experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the challenges they face.
Throughout her career, Bridget has worked with individuals experiencing trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, psychosis, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), integrating these within an attachment- and trauma-informed framework. Her approach is tailored to each person's unique circumstances, strengths, and needs.
Alongside her private practice, Bridget works in a hospital setting supporting people experiencing the psychological impacts of illness, injury, and prolonged hospitalisation following traumatic injury or complex medical conditions.
Bridget has a particular interest in resilience, recovery, and the ways people adapt to life following adversity. Her work acknowledges both the realities of suffering and the capacity to heal, helping clients develop greater insight into their experiences, strengthen their understanding of themselves, and move gently through periods of uncertainty, loss, or change.
